Mommy's big helper!
Little man loooooves this super cool lawnmower that my mom got him last week! Its a very special lawnmower as it blows bubbles while you push - made for my child :) You get to push something that looks like what Daddy uses AND it blows bubbles?!?!?!?! Sign me up!
At this point, I would say he has mowed our lawn 27 times. He's also gotten to every house on the street which is just lovely - I'm gonna start charging here! Kid needs to go to college one day............. :)
Stay at home mom..............sort of.
Wow. What a difference a month makes :) Before we moved to the beach, I was working full-time and while I loved the guys that I worked with and Declan was in a fabulous daycare with kids he loved, I still felt guilty and everyday wished I could be there for the little moments.
Like today. This morning was beautiful, a little breezy but the sun was out and rollin'! Declan was pushing his little lawnmower while I was blowing bubbles in his face that kept him giggling. He needed a little break apparently so he sat in my lap (which is one of my new favorite Decky things.......he will just randomly come over, smile at me, sit in my lap and just...........sit) and I just sang to him. It was probably ridiculous looking but I loved it. We were cuddled up on the driveway, he let me snuggle him and sing "twinkle twinkle little star" over and over and over.
Everyday there is something else that I am beyond thankful I get to experience. Today, it was the snuggle/singfest on the driveway in the sun.
All that said, I am still working part-time and yes it is extremely difficult with an active, needy, animated 1 year old but I love every single second. These are days I will never ever ever get back and while I was able to justify in my head daycare, and I really do think it was great for Declan, this is where I really want to be - raising my son. Every day. Even if that means working early before he's up and long after he goes to bed.........for right now its working and I couldn't be happier.
PLUS - I get to make dinner every night which makes Paul happy :) And me, because everyone knows how much I love food............ and cooking!

Cousins!
My cousin Jay and his wife Kate have the cutest little baby girl, Merrill, just a few months younger than Decky. They all came over on Saturday for a little playdate. Apparently Decky bopped her on the head with the (plastic) hammer - not a very nice way to welcome someone to your home, buddy!
She is the spitting image of her daddy.........AND my aunt! Crazy though because I think Jay, my cousin, looks just like his dad, not his mom. But Merrill looks just like Jay and my Aunt Kathy.......at the same time. Even though they don't look anything alike. What?!?!
Hammer head.
Get it girl
Silly boy loves his puppies!
So much that apparently he wants to sleep with them!
My mom sent me these pics from the weekend :) Little buddy is so in love with Maddie and Chopper, my parents two dogs, and it is very seriously making me want to get one for Declan. Purely for Declan. I am NOT an animal person whatsoever, but I do see him with the dogs and he is just so stinking cute and happy around them. Plus it keeps him busy (until he gets a little bro or sis!). Plus it teaches him to be gentle. Plus as he gets older its a good way to teach responsibility.
Plus Paul refuses. BOO!!!!!! Anyone have any advice on how to convince a very stubborn husband that its a good idea to get a family pet?!?!!?! :)
More fun with the iPhone....
Silly little monkey!
We had a couple days of just full on rain. And I LOOOOOVED it! We never ever everrrr get rain in CO so I was soaking in, literally, every second of a good rain storm. Tried to get pics of it I was so excited....
On our way to Charlotte...buddy's ready for his nap.
2 minutes later - out. like. a. LIGHT.
sweetest boy on the planet.
